'The Apple
Don't Fall...........'
"The
apple don't fall too far from the tree" Those words are true in
my case. 'DJ Keith Alexander' (Webb), one of Ken Webb's
'famous' twins is DJ'ing at the most popular bowling alley on Long Island,
NY, '300 Bowl', located in Mellville. many who come there and bowl
are reporting that their game has improved by 50% since DJ Keith has been
playing the music. For
the past 7 years Keith is a partner in 'Tag Entertainment", a Long
Island entertainment company that provides entertainment for weddings,
retirement parties, office parties, sweet 16 and etc.
He
just loves to spin. Keith takes requests during the night and works them
into his show. Since there isn't really any dance floor, he keeps
the atmosphere jumpin'. Everyone just loves the music while they bowl.
Ken
stops in on him from time to time to make sure the 'family tradition' is
'down pat'.
Keith has actively
been 'spinning' for about 13 years and uses the Serato mixing system.
You can catch him on Friday and Saturdays at '300 Bowl' and his mixes are
featured here on WIR Dance Channel #14. Click Here |

D.J. UMOJA
aka (D.J. SHABAZZ Formally of The GOD SQUAD) aka D.J. DBL Formally Lady Of
Rage
I
am first on the music screen as a block and private party DJ in Brooklyn
(1988). By rocking every
party hired for and creating a bus in Brooklyn and New Jersey…I formed a
production company called Nubians United and landed a Djing spot on 91.5fm
Friday Night Dance Party (1989-90). By
putting together some of the hottest mixes we rose from 21st
spot to the top 5. By
(1990-91) I co-produce and DJ for the Hip Hop group called 'The God Squad'
and release our first single (1991-92) “ Blow them out like candles /
Food for Thought”. Which
was the first group on Kid Capri radio show (WBLS) Pump it up to receive
100% listening support. I
also was the DJ for RAGE (the Lady of Rage) at the same time.
During this time I started playing consistently in Brooklyn
clubs… such as 4D’s International, Town House, Club After Dark and
Illusions. Realizing that
Manhattan is the place to be we (Nubians United) started promoting and
spinning at The Pulse nightclub. I
started getting a lot of love from Manhattan party people, which got the
attention of various promoters. This
lead me to play at different Clubs such as C Squared, Club Nigril,
Glamorama, The Ritz, Reins, The Roxy, Spodee Odee, Sweetwater’s and The
Village Gate (1992-93). My
first steady club spot was at the Crane Club and 72 West a popular
celebrity nightspot promoted by Reggie Wells (1993-95).
By building my name up I started spinning at large venues such as
Sound Factory, The Spirit of New York (yacht party), Parson Exhibition
Center, Roosevelt Hotel, Loews New York Hotel, The Lab, Armenian Hall
Ballroom and the Park Central Hotel (1995-98).
My second steady club spot was at B-52’s rocking the Friday after
work crowd (1999-2001). I
started to Independently Promoting and Djing at after work Thursday at
B-52’s under MeMosa Production (2003-2004).
Presently I am Djing for 4Star entertainment
networking Wednesday at The Fish (2005-Present).
Then Friday Night’s
at Comedy Revue Millionaire’s Club …THE MIXES CONTINUES……… |
